As Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues his historic visit to Kuwait, he was given a ceremonial welcome and the guard of honor at the Bayan Palace.

The ceremonial welcome will be followed by talks with PM of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah and Crown Prince and Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Modi In Kuwait | Day 2 HighlightsModi Receives Highest Civilian Award

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received the highest civilian award - 'The Order of Mubarak the Great' - from the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah in Kuwait.

Narendra Modi is the first Indian prime minister to visit Kuwait in 43 years. Marking this historical visit, the Indian leader was accorded with the ceremonial Guard of Honor in Kuwait.

Ahead of the award, Modi was recieved a ceremonial guard of honour. With the 'The Order of Mubarak the Great', Prime Minister Modi has now received around 20 international honours since the start of his tenure as PM in 2014.

PM Modi Hails 'Multifaceted' Ties Between India and Kuwait

Speaking to Kuwait News Agency, Prime Minister Modi stated that India and Kuwait share "multifaceted ties rooted in history, culture and mutual respect."

"Our strong relations extend across energy, trade and investments. We also have a vibrant Indian diaspora strengthening the friendship further," the PM said.

During the interview with KNA, PM Modi also emphasised and reaffirmed India's support for a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine and the creation of a sovereign, independent state of Palestine.

Modi also mentioned the Indian diaspora in Kuwait and stated that the community acts as a living bridge between the two countries.

Modi Attends Opening Ceremony Of Arabian Gulf Cup

PM Modi also attended the opening ceremony of the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup as the chief guest at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium here. The prime minister accompanied the Emir of Kuwait, Crown Prince and his Kuwaiti counterpart for the opening ceremony.

The biennial Arabian Gulf Cup is being hosted by Kuwait with participation from eight countries, including GCC nations, Iraq, and Yemen.

The prime minister is on a two-day visit to Kuwait at the invitation of Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.crazywin
