Months after the mass rape of Gisele Pelicot came to light, five French judges have delivered their verdicts on Thursday against the 51 men accused of drugging, raping and sexually assaulting the 72-year-old women.

Dominique Pelicot, the ex-husband of Gisèle Pelicot, has been found guilty of aggravated rape and been sentenced to 20 years in jail.

RS Deputy Chairman Rejects Impeachment Notice By Oppn Members Against Jagdeep Dhankhar

Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh on Thursday dismissed the notice signed by Opposition members seeking the removal of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar as Rajya Sabha Chairman and Harivansh reportedly called it 'severely flawed' and accused them of drawing it in haste to 'mar' his reputation, while he ruled it as an act of impropriety.

In his ruling, which was tabled in the House by Rajya Sabha Secretary General P C Mody, the deputy chairman said the impeachment notice is part of an effort to disrespect the country's constitutional institutions and harm the reputation of the current Vice President.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Hybrid Model Agreed; India, Pakistan To Play Matches At Neutral Venues Till 2027

A resolution was finally reached regarding the hosting and venue of next year's Champions Trophy India clashes, as the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Thursday (December 19, 2024) that India will play their matches of the 50-over event at a neutral venue instead of host country Pakistan, who will similarly play at neutral venues for tournaments to be held in India till 2027.
